Our society has changed over time, and in recent years, there has been a growing awareness of gender inequality in different areas. One of the most evident is the gap in employment and income levels, as highlighted in the publication by the National Institute of Statics and Informatics (INEI) Peru: Gender Gaps, 2023: Advances towards Equality between Women and Men.
This report shows an increase in female participation in the labor market, but it does not accurately reflect progress in equal employment opportunities or income. A large portion of the women who work today do so in low productivity sectors or do not receive the same pay as a man performing the same job. This is a challenge that society must overcome.
People´s abilities are measured by their performance, and well-done work deserves the same recognition and benefits. At Valencia, we reaffirm our commitment to being strategic allies for our collaborators in reducing these gaps in society, following our institutional practices and values.
